It was a typical night at Dave & Buster’s on 49 Orland Square Drive, where the neon lights of arcade games reflected a promise of fun. But the festive atmosphere took a sharp turn on Dec. 30 when a confrontation between two patrons drew police intervention and ended with one arrest.

According to a police report, officers arrived at the scene to find a man and a woman in a heated argument. The pair, described as being “in each other’s faces,” were separated by authorities in an attempt to diffuse the situation.

Among those involved was Tyree Malik Parmer, a 20-year-old from Gary, Indiana. Police said Parmer appeared visibly intoxicated, dismissing the incident as just “messing around.” However, his behavior escalated. Officers described him as erratic and combative, answering questions with hostility.

When officers sought to detain him, Parmer allegedly tried to leave the premises on foot, shouting at the officers in frustration. “Just shoot me,” he screamed, according to the report.

The evening ended with Parmer being arrested on charges of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, along with two other offenses.

What began as a night of leisure at the entertainment venue concluded with flashing police lights and an unsettling turn of events—a reminder of how quickly tensions can escalate.
