A routine traffic stop led to a weapons charge for a 21-year-old Chicago man after police found a loaded handgun under his seat.
Officers stopped Omar E. Bahena, of the 2400 block of West Lithuanian Plaza Court, around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 13 in the 7100 block of South Western Avenue for failing to use a turn signal. During the stop, police said they discovered a loaded black Taurus handgun under the driver’s seat.
Bahena, who had a firearm owner’s permit but no concealed carry license, was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon. He also received a citation for the turn signal violation.
