On Tuesday, January 7, the Peotone Blue Devils hung tough against Bishop Mac in a non-conference contest at home. Down by 8 at the half, it was a fight on the boards. In the second half, Bishop Mac took charge, taking the half 31-22, along with the 61-44 win.
The Blue Devils were led by Ruben Velasco III and Brandon Weiss with 11 points each, along with 5 and 7 rebounds, respectively. Also, Nick Cronin recorded 8 points, and Logan Mather added 7 points, along with 4 rebounds. The Blue Devils currently are 4-10 overall and 1-4 in ICE.

The Devils traveled to Wilmington on January 10 and lost, 42-46. The defense had put the team in a position to win but they just didn’t have enough offense to lead them to victory. Ruben Velasco had another double-double, with 29 points and 11 rebounds, plus 3 assists. Alex Chenoweth also had 3 assists. The Blue Devils are now 4-11 overall and 1-5 in ICE.
