On December 24, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Monee officers responded to the 4700 block of West Iris for a possible structural fire. Upon arrival, they assisted the Monee Fire District with traffic control for a dryer fire. The fire was contained in the laundry room and extinguished immediately by Monee Fire. A large amount of lint was discovered inside the wall, and the dryer vent line was not connected to the outside dryer vent housing. In addition, there was a four-by-four wooden post blocking the dryer vent door from opening. Remember: Please take time to inspect your dryer’s flexible lines and connections and remove debris around the exterior exhaust housing.
On December 26, at approximately 1 a.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Jalin Flowers, 19, of Park Forest, for operating a motor vehicle with no front registration, driving while license suspended, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Flowers was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On December 29, at approximately 7:11 a.m., a traffic accident investigation resulted in the arrest of Yander Reyes-Rodriguez, 29, of Chicago, for following too closely and driving while his license was suspended. Reyes-Rodriguez was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On January 2, at approximately 3:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Monee Police Department in reference to a delayed theft from Amazon. Upon arrival, they met with the complainant, who was identified as Amazon’s loss prevention officer. He conveyed the following: An Amazon employee by the name of Mya Dumas, 19, of Chicago Heights, took six pairs of Apple Air pods, for a total of $895, and four pairs of Apple Watches, for a total of $1,456, during her shift. Dumas was interviewed by Monee Investigators and admitted to taking the items from Amazon. Dumas was charged with theft of more than $500 and released with a notice-to-appear.
On January 2, at approximately 6:34 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of La Roi A. Harmon, 29, of Gary, Indiana, for operating a motor vehicle with expired license plates and driving while his license was suspended. Harmon was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On January 6, at approximately 8:44 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Andrielle Covington, 31, of Chicago, for operating a motor vehicle when her registration was suspended for non-insurance, operating an uninsured vehicle, and driving while her license was suspended. Covington was released with a notice-to-appear via her citations.
