
In an effort to inform the community of current crimes and seek the public’s assistance in pending investigations, the Crete Police Department attempts to post information related to crimes occurring within the village, including arrests and crimes. This is only a partial list of calls for service, as officers respond to a wide variety of calls that will not be posted. Remember: All subjects arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Crete Police Department responded to 12 traffic accidents during these dates.
November 1
Tajheem J. Lawson, 21, University Park, was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding a peace officer, aggravated unlawful use of weapon – no FOID, possession of cannabis – driver, and resisting peace officer.
Traveah L. Hughes, 22, Crete, was arrested for unlawful use of weapon – revoked FOID, and possession of cannabis – passenger.
November 2
Derrick McWilliams, 41, Crete, was arrested for DUI.
November 3
Deondra N. Reddick, 34, Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Kevin Salas, 20, Beecher, was arrested for unlawful use of weapon.
November 4
A theft was reported in the 1400 block of Vincennes Street.
November 6
A 14-year-old juvenile, University Park, was arrested at CMHS for aggravated battery – school employee, and was transported to River Valley Juvenile Detention Center.
November 7
A burglary and felony retail theft was reported at Kohl’s after a F/W used an emergency exit to leave the store without paying for clothing items. Officer’s used FLOCK cameras to locate the vehicle at Jewel in South Chicago Heights. The vehicle was towed pending seizure.
Bryant C. Riggins, 38, Crete, was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle after FLOCK cameras alerted officers to the area of Steger Road and Illinois Rt. 394 for a stolen motor vehicle.
November 8
A burglary was reported at the Circle K/Shell Gas Station. A F/W stole 15 cartons of Newport Cigarettes and lottery ticket sleeves. On November 13, the vehicle used in the crime was located in the 1300 block of Ellis Avenue in Ford Heights. The vehicle was towed pending seizure.
November 9
Monique J. Mayfield-French, 41, Bolingbrook, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
November 10
Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue. The vehicle was left unlocked.
A burglary from a motor vehicle was reported in the 1300 block of Columbia Street. The vehicle was left unlocked.
November 13
An identity theft was reported in the 1200 block of Dairy Lane.
November 14
Keeizia E. Bradford, 22, Matteson, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
November 15
Sienna S. Ricchio, 29, Bolingbrook, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
November 16
Rosario Anzelmo, 89, Chicago, was arrested for fleeing and eluding a peace officer.
November 17
Marco A. Espinosa, 25, Chicago, was arrested for obstructing a peace officer and a warrant.
November 19
Afua K. Jordan, 47, Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Danert K. Parham, 30, Harvey, was arrested for a warrant.
November 20
Avianna A. Freeman, 22, Crete, was arrested for a warrant.
Ashley M. Klappauf, 33, Monee, was arrested for felony retail theft – over $300, felony retail theft – prior conviction, retail theft – theft detection removal device, possession of controlled substance, and felony obstructing justice after exiting Kohl’s without paying for items.
An identity theft was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.
November 21
Todd M. Lenoir, 48, Crete, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Jeff Jackson Jr., 40, Crete, was arrested for domestic battery.
A retail theft was reported at Kohl’s after an employee was caught taking items without paying.
A robbery was reported in the 1400 block of Steger Road. A M/B armed with a box cutter took two iPhones from a FedEx driver.
A retail theft was reported at Kohl’s. Two F/B exited the store without paying for items valued over $300.
Johana Camperos, 19, Chicago, and a 14-year-old juvenile, University Park, were arrested for retail theft at Kohl’s for taking items without paying. Their vehicle was seized pending seizure.
November 22
Tiairah M. Grant, 31, Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Lindsey E. Freeman, 24, Sauk Village, was arrested for felony retail theft after attempting to take items without paying from Kohl’s.
Daniel S. Merchantz, 33, Crete, was arrested for DUI.
November 24
Lakeisha Fields-Keys, 51, Lynwood, was arrested for DUI.
Ashley Rodriguez, 31, Crete, was arrested for a warrant.
Todd M. Lenoir, 48, Crete, was arrested for violation of order of protection, resisting a peace officer, and obstructing service of process.
November 26
Raymond A. Rogers, 49, Lynwood, was arrested for DUI.
November 27
Briana L. Burton, 32, Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
November 28
A retail theft was reported at the BP Gas Station. A M/W and F/H took three cases of Monster Energy drinks without paying. Using FLOCK cameras, the vehicle used was located in Steger and towed pending seizure.
November 30
Denim A. Fields, 19, Sauk Village, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
