Ronald F. Regan Sr., 76

Ronald F. Regan Sr.. a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War and retired Chicago firefighter, died on Dec. 7, 2024. He was 76.

A resident of the Garfield Ridge community since 1988, Ronald was deeply committed to his family, his country, and his city.

Ronald served the Chicago Fire Department for 31 years, retiring in 2008. His last assignment was at the fire station at Pulaski and 76th near Ford City. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda Regan and the devoted father of Ronald Regan Jr.

He was a dear brother to Dolores (Bill) Mangan, Judy (Jack) Shannon, Rhea (Fred) Kuzmanich, Diane (Rich) Robin, Kathy (John) Cordin, Linda (Steve) Frost, Nancy (Wayne Cunningham) (Rich) Brown, and Frank (Dawn) Regan, all of whom preceded him in death except Rhea, Diane, Linda, and Nancy. He was also a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Chicago. Additional visitation took place on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 8:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9 a.m.

A Mass of Christian burial followed at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church. Ronald was cremated, and he and his late wife will be interred together at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Ronald’s memory to veteran-support organizations or the Chicago Fire Department Charity Fund.
