There could be some heavy hitting on the area girls volleyball scene again this year.
Michio Chicago VBA/Illprepvb compiled lists of players to watch for the 2024 season.
Seniors from the area include Marist’s Bella Bullington, Maddie Berry and Sophia McKenzie; St. Laurence’s Kayla Birmingham; Mother McAuley’s Sydney Buchanan; Oak Lawn’s Sinead Conroy, Emma McAuliffe and Hailey Wierzgac; and Shepard’s Lexi Jensen.
Juniors to keep an eye on are Marist’s Cassidy Cage and Elayna Davidson, Evergreen Park’s Neve Hayes and Oak Lawn’s Maryam Hussein.
Sophomores on the list are Mother McAuley’s Peyton Heatherly; Lyons’ Julia Ahrens and Taylor Carroll; Nazareth’s Madeline Briscoe; Chicago Christian’s Quinn Grevengoed; and St. Laurence’s Aubrey Martinez,
The best of the best?
The top 150 players in the state include Berry, Birmingham, Marist’s Elise Bocanegra, Buchanan, Bullington, Cage, Sandburg’s Reilly Chausse, Conroy, Davidson, Grevengoed, Hayes, Hetherly, McAulliffe and McKenzie.
