Carol A. Smigielski (née Hopkins) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of Michael Smigielski and the loving mother of James (Martina Mertens) Smigielski and Cheryl (Brian) Scott. She was a cherished grandmother to Michael Barrett, Logan Mertens Smigielski, and Jack Mertens Smigielski, and was preceded in death by her granddaughter Michelle Barrett.
Carol was the dear sister of William (Margaret) Hopkins, Mary Hejna, and Frances (William) Rouse, and was preceded in death by her sister Cynthia (Kenneth) Cachur. She was a fond aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A proud member of the Willow Springs Lioness Lions Club and the Willow Springs Senior Club, Carol dedicated her time to community service and friendships.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, from 9:15 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:15 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish. A procession from the church will follow to Resurrection Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, where Carol’s cremains will be entombed.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
