Steven “Smitty” Smith, an Army veteran, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.
He was the beloved son of the late Henry and Lorraine Smith and the loving brother of Michael Smith, Maureen (John) Schweitzer, and the late Doreen (Kenneth) Kolff. He was a dear uncle to Rob (Lisa) Wolford, Deanna Kolff, the late Michael Wolford, Henry (Christine) Kolff, and Kenny (Trish) Kolff, as well as a loving great-uncle and great-great-uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem). Family and friends will share remembrances of Smitty at 7:30 p.m. in celebration of his life.
A committal service with military honors will take place on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity in memory of Steven.
Smitty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
