Angelo Richard “Ang” Labriola, a retired Chicago Police Department officer, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2025. He was 76.
Labriola was the beloved husband of 50 years to Arlene (née Massi) and the proud father of Chris (Ashley Sapinski). He was the dear brother of Dan (Gayle Greear) and Rosemary (Brian) Meltzer, and the late Arlene (Jeff) Vana. He was also a cherished brother-in-law to Deanna Rogus and a fond uncle to seven nephews. The family extended a special thank-you to Barb for her kindness and assistance in caring for Ang.
Labriola served 33 years with the Chicago Police Department before retiring in 2004. He later worked as a security officer with Chicago City Colleges and at United Parcel Service in Hodgkins, Illinois.
A lifelong Harley-Davidson enthusiast, Labriola took numerous motorcycle trips with his brother, nephews, and friends. He also loved spending time on the Chain O’ Lakes, boating and relaxing at the “Lake House” deck. In recent years, he cherished weekend hours with his son, Chris, watching television together. A devoted Chicago Bears fan, he never wavered in his loyalty.
Labriola was a loving pet dad to many dogs, the last being Yogi.
He was cremated, and a private service will be held in May.
