Kazmiera J. Jarosz (née Knap), a resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at the age of 89.
She was the beloved wife of the late Marian F. Jarosz for more than 67 years and the love of his life. A devoted wife and mother, Kazmiera balanced a full-time job while raising four children. She was an exceptional cook who took pride in preparing traditional Polish dishes and hosting family and friends.
Known for her strength, generosity, and unwavering values, she never hesitated to help those in need. She instilled both resilience and compassion in her children. A devout Catholic, she attended church every weekend and cherished spending time with her family, especially during their visits to the Polish National Alliance campground in Yorkville, Illinois, where they celebrated their Polish heritage with live music and dancing. No matter the festivities, attending Mass remained a priority, a testament to her deep faith.
Kazmiera was the cherished mother of Albert Michael (Julie) Jarosz, Barbara Jarosz, Dorothy (Daniel) Montoya, and Theresa (James) Leracz. She was the loving grandmother of Jamie (Cameron), Bobby (Jordan), A.J. (Magda), Lil Tino, Sonia, Daniel Jr. (Crystal), David (Maliza), Desiree (Joel), Diana (Rich), and Jonathan. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Jack, Bozena, George, Angelica, Tommy, Baby Tino, Mackalynn, Julianna, Liam, Nia, Jaleah, Michael, Elijah, Matthew, and baby girl Sueno, expected soon.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 2 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem). Additional visitation took place Monday, Feb. 3. A procession followed to St. Faustina Kowalska Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Kazmiera will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
