For the Blue Devils on Friday, January 24, it was a disappointing night, but there was some good news, with Brandon Weiss scoring his 1,000th point as a Peotone Blue Devil.
In the contest, the Blue Devils held tight right up to the end, but it was the offensive boards they could not control. At the half, the Blue Devils were down 25-36, but the third quarter was all Blue Devils, as they out-scored the Coalers 24-12. The fourth, though, was a nail biter. The Coalers
were down by two, with just seconds to play. Then Coal City made a 3-point shot at the
buzzer, and it was done, resulting in a heart-breaking loss for the Devils, 61-62.
On the night, Ruben Velasco had 27 points and 9 rebounds, while Brandon Weiss added 18 points
