On January 21, Peotone Police and Fire were dispatched to a field 1/4 mile east of Harlem for a report of a vehicle found in the field with its hazard lights on and visible damage. The fire department confirmed the vehicle was unoccupied. Peotone officers conducted a search of the surrounding area for the driver but were unable to locate anyone. The vehicle was deemed abandoned, and a tow was requested. After the vehicle was removed, the officers attempted notification to the registered owner.

On January 23, Peotone Police were called to CVS to speak with the manager regarding a retail theft that occurred earlier in the morning. According to the manager, an unidentified white female was observed walking through the store placing items in her bag. At one point, the bag broke, causing the items to fall out. The suspect quickly picked up a few items and left the store. The manager had no additional information. Officers will be increasing the walk-throughs of local businesses.
