Henry ‘Hank’ Lambke

Henry “Hank” E. Lambke, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community leader, died.

Lambke was the beloved husband of the late Valentina “Tina” H. Lambke (née Wisniewski) and the loving father of Patrick Lambke, Suzanne (Peter) Cairo, David (Beth) Lambke, Timothy Lambke, Tammy (John) Fisher, Jamie Kraft, and Tina Marie Ellison. He was a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to many.

He was the dearest brother of Dorothy Lambke and was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. He was also a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Lambke retired after 34 years with AT&T and dedicated much of his life to service. He served as president of St. Joseph Senior Center in Summit for 30 years, was a member of St. Joseph Church’s Ushers Club and Holy Name Society, and was the central council president of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Archdiocese of Chicago.

He proudly served in the United States Army and was named “Soldier of the Month” for three consecutive months in the 267th Armored Division.

A funeral Mass was held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernardine Church, 801 S. Elgin in Forest Park. Cremation was private, with future interment planned at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Visitation took place Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Arrangements were handled by Wolniak Funeral Directors.
