Peotone Police Blotter: December 19 – January 4

On December 19, Officers were dispatched to meet with two parties involved in a property damage accident on Wilmington Road. Both parties were standing in the Shell parking lot, 700 Oriole Drive. Officers met with the drivers confirming there was no injury and completed an accident report.

On December 20, Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of E. Crawford Street in reference to a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two parties at the residence. Both individuals confirmed they were engaged in a verbal argument, and one party broke a chair. Both parties advised they did not need any medical assistance; officers also did not see any visible signs of a physical altercation. Both parties chose to remain at the residence and remain separate, advising no additional police assistance needed.

On December 27, a Peotone Officer responded to the report of criminal damage to a vehicle that occurred in the 100 block of W. Main. Upon arrival the officer met with the owner of a 2001 Buick LeSabre. The owner advised he parked his vehicle at approximately 7:55 a.m. and, between then and 10:30 a.m., someone damaged his rear window. The owner of the vehicle also advised video would be available later in the day. The officer spoke with a resident directly across from where the vehicle was, having negative results in anyone seeing what had occurred. The officer completed a preliminary report, and all information was forwarded for investigation.

On December 30, a Peotone Officer was dispatched to the parking lot at 362 N. Harlem Avenue for a property damage accident. Upon arrival, the officer met with the involved party, who stated that as they backed out of the parking space they struck an unoccupied vehicle parked behind them. The Peotone Officer gathered needed information and completed an accident report.

On January 4, at 4:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Peotone Travel Center, 601 S. 88th Avenue, for a theft. Multiple subjects in masks and gloves entered the store. One of the subjects walked up to the counter and took the entire lotto display containing an unknown amount of lotto tickets. The subjects then left the store and got in a vehicle parked by the main doors. The getaway vehicle’s plates did not match the vehicle.
