Quality Plus Photo Design Center closed its longtime home in Palos Heights last week.
New owner Zibi Podraza, who purchased the business when founders Mike and Judi Weber retired over the summer, decided to merge the business with his photography shop in Oak Lawn.
Podraza said he decided to merge the Palos Heights location with ZIBI Photo & Business Printing at 9637 Southwest Highway because it will keep all of his services under one roof. The new phone number is 708-599-0909.
A sign has been in the window for a few weeks saying the space would be available for lease.
Podraza was born and raised in Poland. He has been a photographer since he picked up his very first camera at the age of 10 and never put it back down.
“For me, photography started as just a hobby but my passion continued to grow,” Podraza, of Oak Lawn, said.
Eventually, Podraza’s hobby exploded and he turned professional. He took up wedding photography and shot his first wedding in Poland at the young age of 15. An experience that led him to become a popular wedding photographer.
Podraza bought Quality Plus after working there for two decades. The Webers owned the shop for 42 years before retiring. They started in Worth before relocating to Palos Heights.
Developer eyes Summit, Bedford Park
Bridge Industrial has finalized two deals that will bring massive developments to Summit and Bedford Park.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The company closed a sale on 21 acres on Nov. 22 for a development called Bridge Point Summit. Plans are for a 340,000 warehouse on the property.
On Dec. 3, the developer closed on a deal to build Bridge Point Bedford Park II, a 140,000-square-foot building on 6 acres.
“The building is a spec building,” said Bedford Park Mayor Dave Brady. “No tenants yet, but will probably be for manufacturing or logistics. The village will own the frontal property along 65th and we plan to use it for parking to tie into our plans for an Entertainment District.”
Both projects will feature 36-foot high exterior dock doors, drive-in doors, trailer parking stalls and parking stalls.
Construction is slated to begin first quarter and be completed by first quarter of 2026.
Cornerstore is the architecture firm for both projects, while Triumph Design Build is the general contractor for Bridge Point Summit, and Principle is general contractor for Bridge Point Bedford Park II.
Palos Chamber member of the year
Peace Village in Palos Park has been named as the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce’s Member of the Year.
Peace Village was founded in 1989. It’s vision is to create a society that reimagines and celebrates aging.
