Hoey
TAMMY LYNN HOEY

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tammy Lynn Hoey, who departed this world on July 4, in Maywood, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tammy was born on July 24, 1963, in Oak Park, to Sieghard “Zeke” Fierke and Cren Faye Burris. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (“Gigi”), and friend, whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Tammy’s early years were spent in Justice, where she cultivated a deep sense of community and family values. Her parents, Zeke and Cren, instilled in her a strong work ethic and a compassionate heart. She grew up alongside her siblings, Gregory Fierke, Cynthia Meier (Fierke), Gary Fierke, Randy Fierke, and Stacy Fierke forming bonds that would last a lifetime. Tragically, she was preceded in death by her beloved parents and siblings Cynthia and Randy, leaving a void in her life that she filled with love and dedication to her own family.

On February 14, 2000, Tammy married the love of her life, Brian Hoey, in a beautiful ceremony at the Grand Ole Opry. Their marriage was a testament to their deep love and commitment to each other. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Tammy and Brian were blessed with four wonderful children: Sara Kent (Hoey), Joshua Haraf, Jessica Scott (Hoey), and Christopher Haraf. Tammy’s love for her children was boundless, and she took immense pride in their accomplishments and the people they grew to be.

Tammy’s greatest joy came from her role as a Gigi to Logan, Landon, Wesley, Duke, and Kennley. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she adored every moment spent with them. Tammy’s home was always filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family gatherings. She had an incredible ability to make everyone feel special and loved, creating an environment where her family and friends felt cherished and supported.

Visitation and Celebration of Tammy’s life were held July 13 at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice. For more information, 708-496-0200 or www.kaminskifamilyfuneralhomes.com.
