He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lenore (née Migonis), daughter Lisa (Mike) Sexton, sister Virginia “Sissy” (Darold) Hepker, his grandchildren Dave (Kristel) Sexton, Scott (Tamara) Sexton, Brandon Faulk, Brittany (Xander) Morgan, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean M., and two siblings, Robert (Jean), and Carol (Jim) Gasdiel.
Dean graduated from Argo Community High School in 1951 and began working in construction, only to be drafted by the United States Army in 1953. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for service during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1955. Dean and Lenore were married in 1957 with Dean returning to construction, working hard to provide for his family. He was a member of the Cement Masons Union Local 502 for over 50 years, laying countless miles of roads and highways.
In his retirement, Dean had more time for his favorite hobby, golf, and would often be seen on the green with Al, “Shorty”, and Uncle George (his brother-in-law). Dean enjoyed a good joke, especially the jokes in his stories he would tell over and over again with a smile and twinkle in his eye. More than anything, Dean loved time spent with his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. Dean’s greatest achievement in life, he would agree, was the care and love he gave to Lenore, right up until the end. Dean saw the beauty in everyone and was always quick to pay a compliment. He wanted everyone around him to feel good about themselves. To know him was to love him and to be loved by him was a gift.

Don was many things: a lover of all things mechanical, a collector of motorcycles, a builder of tree forts, a dancer extraordinaire, an Old Style aficionado, adored by The Royal Flush Girls, and a teller of the longest joke you’ll never remember.
