Kathleen L. Gallichio, a cherished longtime resident of Chicago’s Clearing community, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the age of 81.
She was the beloved wife of the late James Gallichio and a devoted mother to Gina Gallichio, James Jr. (Laura) Gallichio, and Christopher (Diane) Gallichio. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Reno (fiancée Michelle), Vincent, Francesca, Sarah, Jillian, and Gianni.
Kathleen was the dear sister of Bobbi (the late John) Molinari and Pat (Michael) Culhane. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Emily Reed.
An active parishioner at St. Rene Goupil Church, Kathleen was involved in the Mother’s Club and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her children and grandchildren will forever remember her as the best mother and grandmother, and her legendary Italian meals will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 24, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem). A second visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the time of prayers at 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Rene Goupil Church. Kathleen will be entombed next to her husband, James, at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
