
Raymond M. Walsh Sr., 79, a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Vietnam and a retired sergeant with the Orland Park Police Department with over 30 years of service, passed away peacefully.
He was the beloved husband of Teresa (née Castellanos) for 58 years. A devoted father, he is survived by his children: Raymond Jr. (Chrissy), Shawn (Marisa), Eamon (Stacy), and Stephany (Joe) Zumerling. He was a cherished grandfather to Julie, Shawn Michael, Chloe, Anthony, Joey, Simon, Joey, Raelynn, and Evelyn.
Raymond was the loving son of the late Simon and Alice Walsh. He was a dear brother to Tom (Laurel), Bobby (Jolene), Pat (Mary), Jim (Caryl), Mary (late Jim) McNally, Mike (Jean), and Donny (Patty). He was also a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. & Harlem), Orland Park. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Teresa Walsh to assist with funeral expenses would be appreciated.
