A 57-year-old Orland Park man was arrested Feb. 17 and charged with driving under the influence after an incident at the Thornton Gas Station, 7600 W. 159th Drive, police said.
Authorities identified the driver as Mark J. Lunn, of the 16000 block of Crystal Creek Drive. According to police, officers were called to the gas station after Lunn was found sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle. When approached, he allegedly sped away, later passing out while driving and veering into the wrong lane of traffic.
Officers eventually stopped Lunn, who appeared “disheveled” and had soap suds on the side of his head, police said. According to the report, he had allegedly driven through a nearby car wash with his windows down.
Lunn was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests, police said. He allegedly swore at officers and threatened legal action before being transported to the police station.
He was scheduled to appear in court March 12 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
