At the Frankfort Village Board Meeting on Monday, March 17, the board passed a resolution to continue a program that includes a police presence in local schools. At its March 12 meeting, the Committee of the Whole reviewed a Memorandum of Understanding with Frankfort School District 157-C for the renewal of the School Resource Officer Program.

The Village of Frankfort and District 157-C first established the program with a two-year agreement in 2018, which was renewed for four years in 2021. Both parties recognize the program’s significant benefits and wish to extend the agreement for another four-year term. The agreement includes provisions allowing either party to terminate it, with or without cause, by providing 90 days’ written notice.

Also at the March 17 meeting, Frankfort Village Trustees approved spending $43,057 to make repairs to area infrastructure. At its March 12 meeting, the Committee of the Whole reviewed eight bid proposals for replacing the deteriorating 30-inch culvert under Shetland Drive at Sauk Trail, where corrosion has caused a sinkhole in the parkway. The funding for the project is included in the 2024/2025 Operating Budget. The contract for the work was awarded to Allied Water Services.
