Monee Police Blotter: January 28-February 10

On January 28, at 4:02 p.m., Monee K-9 Officer Steven Crescenti and K-9 “Cap” were asked to assist the Richton Park Police Department in tracking subjects involved in a shooting in their town. Upon arrival, Officer Crescenti was told Richton Park Police believed they had the shooter in custody but asked if the K-9 Team could perform a search for the firearm used in the shooting. Officer Crescenti deployed his K-9 partner Cap and, after a detailed search, located a loaded semi-automatic Glock handgun. Good job, Monee K-9 Team!

On January 29, at 9:19 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Kendall Corbett, 25, of Markham, who was charged with driving with one headlight while his license was suspended. Corbett was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.

On January 31, at approximately 5:46 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Monee Police Department to take a theft complaint. Upon their arrival, they were met by a Monee resident who said an Amazon delivery was stolen off their porch. The total loss was $395. Residents: Be alert for your deliveries and remove them from your porch as soon as possible.

On February 9, at 11:01 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Rita Heard, 37, of Chicago. Heard was charged with failure to signal, DUI- Alcohol – 1st or 2nd offense, and DUI-BAC 0.8 or more – 1st or 2nd offense. She was issued a notice-to-appear via her citations.

On February 10, at approximately 1:54 a.m., Monee officers discovered a stolen vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 25700 block of S. Cleveland Avenue. The car was removed for safekeeping, and the owner was notified.
