Maria de la Rosa, 99

Maria de la Rosa, who graced this earth for 99 years, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Francisco Paniagua for 51 years until his passing in 2006. A devoted mother, Maria leaves behind her children, Isamel Paniagua, the late Filemon Paniagua, Andrea (Antonio) Esparza, Maria (Bernardino) Mejia, Francisco (Marcelina) Paniagua, Rodolfo (Maricella) Paniagua, Bartolo (Elba) Paniagua and Alteagracia (Jaime) Correa. She was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

Maria was the dear sister of Juliana and Esteban and was preceded in death by her siblings Eluterio, Leonardo, Guadalupe, Juan, Jose and Teresa. She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home in Summit, Illinois. A second visitation took place Saturday morning before prayers at 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass followed at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Church, Cristo Rey Parish. Maria was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
