An apartment on the second floor of a six-unit condominium building in the 15300 block of Treetop Drive in Orland Park was seriously damaged by fire on Saturday morning.

The Orland Fire Protection District responded to the fire, which was reported at 11:30 a.m.

An Orland firefighter looks over damage in the burned out apartment Saturday morning.

Upon arrival, crews located the fire in a second-floor unit, deployed hose lines, and quickly brought the fire under control. Other firefighters were searching and helping evacuate residents from the other unaffected units.

The fire was contained to the affected unit, although several other units sustained smoke and water damage.

There were no injuries, fire  officials said Saturday. Firefighters did rescue two cats from the apartment.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The alarm was upgraded to bring other departments to the scene for assistance and provide coverage to areas of the Fire District where Station Crews had been deployed to the fire. Assistance was provided by firefighters from Lemont, Palos, Tinley, Homer, Frankfort, and Lockport.
