Monee Police Blotter: January 24-25

On January 24, at approximately 7:02 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of W. Industrial Drive to take a report of a building burglary. Upon their arrival, they met with three separate contractors who had gang boxes, containing tools, that were forcibly opened. The contractors’ tool loss was more than $11,000. Monee Police Detectives are investigating.

On January 24, at approximately 7:33 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 6605 W.Monee-Manhattan Road (Amazon) to take a report of a stolen vehicle. They were met by the victim, who said he worked a 12-hour shift and, when he went to his car, it was gone. He shared he was up-to-date with his payments. Monee Police Detectives are investigating.

On January 24, at 10:14 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 5815 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Petro Travel Center) to take a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon their arrival, they were met by a professional driver, who was hauling new cars on a car carrier trailer. The driver said two Hyundai Tucsons were taken from his carrier unit. Monee Police Detectives are investigating.

On January 24, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Monee Officers were already at 5815 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Petro Travel Center) to take a report of a stolen vehicle. While taking a report of another vehicle theft from a car carrier trailer, they were approached by a second car carrier driver who said he was missing one Kia Stinger from his carrier unit. Monee Police Detectives are investigating.

On January 25, at 12:30 p.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 6002 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Pilot) for a domestic in progress. Upon their arrival, they were met by a male and a female, who both appeared to have been in an altercation. Officers learned they disagreed with drug use, which led to them both becoming physically abusive. The female was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and officers met her at the hospital to see if she wanted to pursue charges against her boyfriend. She refused to pursue, sign complaints, or cooperate. The male was released. Both subjects were given copies of their Domestic Violence Act victim’s rights packets.
