Regina “Vida” Dugan, 86, died Jan. 22, 2025.
She was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Panevezys, Lithuania, to Antanas and Augusta Stulpinas. At age 10, she immigrated to the United States from Germany with her parents, settling in the Brighton Park and Bridgeport neighborhoods of Chicago.
Dugan was the beloved wife of the late Edward L. Dugan and a devoted mother to Leo (Susan) Pilipauskas, Judy (Kevin) Gorman-Porlier, Paul (Tami) Pilipauskas, and Diana (Paul) Sturlis. She was a loving “Mima” to Kristin Ellis (Nick Kemp), Shannon Gorman (Jake Allen), Steven (Megan) Sturlis, Rebecca Sturlis, Frank (Jacki) Pilipauskas, Kristina (John) Lastovich, Molly (Jeff) Zivkovic, and Nolan Sturlis. She was also a great-grandmother to Ronan, Finnian, Aidan, Maeve, Cillian, and Owen.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony (Katherine) Stulpinas. She is survived by her nephew, Brian Stulpinas (Katie Chew), as well as her sisters-in-law, Dolores Schroeder and Shirley Vallet.
Dugan had a passion for antiquing and spent weekends searching estate sales and antique malls for unique treasures. She and Ed were active members of Midwest Soaring, dedicating their time to preserving Native American traditions and lands. She was also a former member of the Women of the Moose and an avid reader.
A memorial visitation was held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Frankfort, Illinois, followed by a memorial Mass. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
