Chicago police arrested a 30-year-old man on multiple drug and weapons charges as part of an investigation into reported drug sales on the South Side.
Officers took David Nelson, of the 7700 block of South Loomis Avenue, into custody at 7:13 p.m. on Jan. 17 inside an apartment in the 2300 block of West 63rd Street, police said.
Authorities said the exterior building door was open when they arrived, and Nelson, who matched the suspect’s description, was standing in a hallway outside an empty apartment police described as a “trap house” used for drug sales.
Nelson faces two felony charges for possession of heroin and cocaine, as well as an additional charge for illegal possession of cannabis. Police also charged him with unlawful possession of a weapon.
Further details about the investigation were not immediately available.
