Alexandra “Sandy” Kokot (née Inasowa), 99, died on Jan. 21, 2025.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kazimierz Kokot and the longtime companion of the late Michael Szuszkiewicz. She was a loving mother to Chester (Elaine) Kokot, Donna Kokot, Gene (Kathy) Kokot, and Irene Tomasovich.
Kokot was a dear grandmother to Tanya (James) Bruce, Karen Kokot, Natalya (Brian Mathews) Tomasovich, Mark (Stacy) Kokot, Nadine Tomasovich, Tracey (Anthony) Pantaliono, Michael Tomasovich, Gene Paul Kokot, Samantha (Ari) Morales, and David DuCasse. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Sara Muszanski, Jake Tomasovich, Gene Paul Kokot, Joseph Tomasovich, Luke Kokot, Sophia Morales, Gavin Kokot, Brielle Kokot, and Ari Morales. She was survived by many other relatives and friends.
Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Kokot and her family moved to Belgium after being liberated from postwar Germany. Seeking better opportunities for their children, they later immigrated to the United States.
Kokot was an avid cook and baker, specializing in Polish cuisine. She was a volunteer member of the Polish Alliance and a member of Local 25 SEIU Union.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. until prayers at 11 a.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. A procession followed to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for an 11:30 a.m. Mass.
She was entombed at Resurrection Cemetery, Our Lady of Czestochowa Garden Mausoleum.
