Irene Manning, 86, of Peotone, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Citadel of Bourbonnais. Born in Chicago on May 11, 1938, she was the daughter of Tom and Lionel (Tasca) Minervino. Irene was a graduate of Fenger High School in Chicago. She married Raymond W. Manning on May 3, 1958, at St. Anthony’s, also in Chicago. He passed away on January 30, 2014.
Irene was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Peotone. She formerly worked at Teresa Frozen Pizza in Peotone for several years and enjoyed working with ceramics but, most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas (Katharine) Manning of Bourbonnais and John (Rose) Manning of Cape Coral, Florida; three grandchildren, Jessica (John Paul V) McCaslin, Neil (Megan) Manning, and Joseph Tafoya III; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Sheri Manning (October 6, 1996); three brothers; and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 15, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m., with Father Thomas Milota officiating.
