Norbert Louis Buttliere, 93, a proud Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted children.
He was the beloved husband of Joyce (née Krass) and the late Janeth (née Cappetta).
Norbert was the cherished father of Thomas (Beth) and Brad (Guadalupe) Buttliere, Gina (Robert) Howard, and the late Anthony Buttliere; stepfather of Christy Aronson (Steven) Piotrowski. He was a loving “Pops” to Brett, Scott, Nicholas, and Samantha Buttliere, and Rachael and Joseph Howard; and a step-grandfather to Sophia Piotrowski.
He was a dear brother to the late Collette (George) Looby and Jerome and Anthony (Betty) Buttliere, as well as a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
An enthusiastic world traveler, Norbert inspired others to explore the globe. As a devoted usher at Sacred Heart Church in Palos Hills, Illinois, his presence was a source of warmth and faith to many.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy, Palos Hills . A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th St., Palos Hills, IL 60465. Interment will be private.
