Two men were charged Thursday with multiple felonies after a series of armed robberies and a carjacking in Chicago, authorities said.

James Robinson, 21, of the 100 block of East 119th Street in Chicago, and Damian Macias, 21, of the 8800 block of South Harlem Avenue in Bridgeview, were arrested by the Citywide Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on November 6. The men are accused of a crime spree that included taking a vehicle at gunpoint from a 70-year-old man in the 2600 block of West Pershing on September 24, according to police.

Shortly after the carjacking, Robinson and Macias allegedly committed an armed robbery against a 23-year-old woman in the 6100 block of South California Avenue. Authorities say the pair continued their spree across Chicago’s 8th District that morning, targeting a 36-year-old woman on South Karlov Avenue and two men, ages 23 and 28, on West 62nd Place. The victims were not reported to have been injured.

Robinson and Macias each face four felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm and one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm. The suspects remain in custody, pending a detention hearing at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse, 2600 S. California Ave., set for Friday, November 8.

Further details on the incidents and investigation have not been released.
