The Nazareth baseball team took a road trip to the middle of Illinois and improved its record to 7-0 on March 23 by beating Limestone, 6-0.

Limestone is the alma mater of former White Sox player and Baseball Hall of Fame member Jim Thome, who is an assistant coach for the Roadrunners.

Thome played 22 seasons in the Major Leagues and was a five-time All-Star who played third base early in his career before shifting to first base and designated hitter. In addition to playing for the White Sox from 2006 — when he was named Comeback Player of the Year — until August 2009, he also spent time with Cleveland, Philadelphia, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota and Baltimore.
