Great Lakes Beer and Bourbon abruptly closed its doors earlier this month in Palos Park after being open since last summer.
The pub at 12900 S. LaGrange Road in Palos Park closed September 3 with little warning.
The business posted a farewell message on its Facebook page:
“To all our loyal customers over the last year, I first want to express my sincere regret for having to write this post. As of today, Great Lakes Beer and Bourbon will be permanently closed. I have had the great pleasure of being the manager here for the past six months and have made several great friends and memories! You will all be in my heart, and I will treasure the friendships that I have made. Feel free to drop a picture in the comments of your best memory for us; we will cherish it.”
There are rumors that a new investor is interested in taking over the former McDivot’s bar, so stay tuned for new information.
Craft brewer closes
In a related development, south suburban craft beer fans are crying over the recent closing of Lansing’s only brewery, One Trick Pony.
The taproom closed September 1 after a decade at its 17851 Chappel Avenue location.
Plans apparently fell through for a relocation to a new spot in town on Ridge Road, but owners are hopeful this has not been the end of One Trick Pony. So, again, stay tuned for new information.
