She did it again. Three for three.

Orland Park resident Krysta Stanko won her third straight women’s division championship at the Veterans Liberty Run, held July 3 at Centennial Park in Orland Park.

Stanko, an Andrew graduate who will be a sophomore at Governors State, ran the 2-mile course in 12:40.2, which was good for seventh overall. She had some stern competition as Halina Kaminski was close behind with a time of 12:42.8.

“It was hot, but it was only 2 miles, so it felt pretty quick,” she said. “I want to keep my title for as long as I can.”

Stanko made a huge first impression at GSU, qualifying for the NAIA National Cross Country Championships and finishing 228th with a time of 24:44.8.
