Repair cafes have become quite the thing for the Township of Lyons.
So much so that another repair cafe will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, June 15, at the township office, 6404 Joliet Road in Countryside.
A repair café held in May was a smashing success, Township Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg told the board at its meeting Tuesday night.
“We had a very successful repair café on Saturday, May 18,” Hoffenberg said. “We had a plethora of electronics, clothing and draperies that were repaired.”
Broken power tools, coast missing button, torn clothing, and broken lamps are among the many items that can be repaired. Basically, if something is broke, bring it in. There’s a good chance it can be repaired.
Knife sharpening is also available free of charge.
