The Hills Farmers Market is bringing more and offering unique experiences this year.
The Hills Chamber of Commerce and the City of Hickory Hills have joined forces this year, pooling their resources and ideas to create an annual farmers market at 8653 W. 95th Street. The market will be held every Friday from June 7 to September from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This collaboration promises to deliver a truly unforgettable experience for residents.
Hills Chamber President Phyllis Majka unveiled an exciting lineup of vendors and activities during the May 23 City Council meeting.
The list includes a thrilling mix of local favorites and new vendors. Locals will have access to favorite vendors like Cooper Farms LLC as well as Nuts to Go. There are 19 new vendors this year including 2nd City Nurse Candle Company, All Ciny Mixes (drink mixes and dips), Avocado Theory, Bee Line Microgreens, Bloom & Thrive, Bosco’s All-Natural, Deb’s Creations, Laconic Foods, Legacy Restoration, Lil Bird Kitchens, Los Rodriguez Farm, Meda-Fit, NWI Baths, Villas Nuts & Candy, Tony Peanuts Peanut Butter, Not Just Cookies, The Gluten-Free Goddesses, JenCare, and Allstate, which makes a whopping 36 vendors.
But the Hills Farmers Market is not just about shopping. It’s about creating lasting memories and having fun with your family.
Chamber member Teresa Stack said this year’s market will be the most fun to attend this summer. She said there’s an exciting calendar of events, with something for everyone to enjoy.
South Side singers and guitarists will perform in the market every Friday. A DJ will entertain attendees on the last Friday or June and July.
On June 14, the Illinois Tollway will be on hand supplying new transponder stickers for I-PASS customers. They will also offer service assistance for programs like Pay-By-Plate, which allows customers to safely and securely pay unpaid tolls.
The Green Hills Library will also participate in Story Time in the Park, where families can come on the third Friday of June, July, and August to enjoy story time and other family activities such as Painting in the Park.
Local fitness center, Meda-Fit, will be offering its services for the first time this year. Residents can work out with Meda-Fit members on June 14, 21, and June 28.
