Jorge Garcia Gudiño, age 77, of Chicago, passed away peacefully April 22, with his family by his side.
Born in Tuxpan, Michoacán, Mexico, eventually moving to the United States where he started a family. He was a hard-working and charitable man. He started Taqueria La Kermes, which became a staple in La Villita, a vibrant Mexican neighborhood in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Josefina Gonzalez-Garcia; his children Maria Guadalupe Jason, Jose Pedro Soto, Jorge M. Garcia and husband Javier, Adrian Gaston Garcia; his grandchildren, Jose Pedro Soto Jr, Isaly Soto, Mark Joaquin Jason, Madelyn Paola Jason; his furry grandchildren, Diego and Felipe; and his siblings Gildardo Garcia Gudiño, Guillermo Garcia Gudiño, Juan Carlos Garcia Gudiño, Adrian Garcia Gudiño, Raul Garcia Gudiño, Armando Garcia Gudiño.
He is preceded in death by his parents Juvenal Garcia Ruiz and Jovita Gudiño Terran, as well as his siblings Marisela Bolaños (Garcia), Justo Garcia Gudiño, Octavio Garcia Gudiño, Alfredo Garcia Gudiño and Rogelio Garcia Gudiño.

Our hearts are broken to announce the unexpected passing of Maria del Carmen Herrera Gallegos.
She was a beloved wife for 32 glorious years to Carlos Mauricio Olea. They would have celebrated their 33rd in July this year; loving mother of Evelyn del Carmen (Jorge), Carlos Mauricio, and Michelle Stephanie; cherished grandmother of Angelo Jorge Dominguez Olea; fond sister of Alicia Herrera Gallegos, Esthela Martinez, Jose Guadalupe Herrera Gallegos, Martin Herrera-Gallegos, Dora Castillo, Sandra Herrera Gallegos, and Jorge L. Herrera Gallegos. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. All who knew Carmen will remember her happy spirit and a beautiful smile that could light up a room. She will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
Visitation was held May 21 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W Archer Ave (55th street just west of Harlem Ave). Visitation ws held May 22 at the funeral home until the time of Prayers. He was the beloved husband for 63 years of the late Bernadette Gniadecki (nee McKay).
Stephen is survived by his devoted family; Bernadette B. (Dean Van de Kerchove) and Sheila (Frank) Panella, Stephen and Jack Gniadecki. He will be forever loved and cherished by his grandchildren; Sarah, Anna (Marcus) Rasmussen, Liz, Joe and Emily Panella, and great grandchild Conrad. Brothers, sisters and in-laws; Richard and Brigid McKay, the late Mae Foss, Eleanor and James Redmond, Kitty McKay, Marguerite (Peg) and Dr. James Canavan, Ann and Bill Beilfuss, Jack, James and George McKay, Josephine (Ginger) and Andrew Kosmic, Chester and Vera Gniadecki, Stella and John Kubowicz, Edward and Angie Gniadecki, Genevieve (Jean) and Mitchell Koprowski, Stanley and Georgia Gniadecki, Ann McMullen. Many nieces and nephews.
Stephen was born on March 26, 1930, to Polish immigrants Stanislaw and Anna (nee Kruczek) Gniadecki. He was the youngest of eight living children that his mother raised after her husband passed away only one month after Stephen’s birth.
He graduated from Harper High School on Chicago’s South Side. He was an all-around athlete, and excelled in gymnastics, football, and was even a Chicago wrestling champion.
He joined the Marine Corps in 1951 and earned the rank of sergeant.
He met and then married Bernadette in 1958, and grew their life and family together in Evergreen Park.
Stephen worked for Continental Group as a Tool and Die Specialist. His problem-solving abilities and engineering mind made him an invaluable resource for their Canning Division for over 39 years.
Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Visitation on Monday, June 3, at 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 8245 W. 111th Street, Palos Hills. Internment private.

(nee Halter) Kranig; dearest father to Lenora (Joseph) Davern Sr. and Eric (Viktorija) Kranig; fond grandfather to Joseph Davern Jr, Ashley (Alex) Olivetti, Alexis Davern; treasured great grandfather to Olivia Olivetti; dear brother to Raymond and (Ginger) Kranig, Jerry (Audrey) Kranig, Robert F Kranig, Leroy (Marge) Kranig, Benjamin (Marge) Kranig, June (William) McDowell, Norma (Frank) McDowell. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jeffery J. Kranig was born on August 10th, 1941, in Chicago, where he also attended catholic school and graduated Tuley High School. On February 1st, 1964, Jeffery married Nancy Lee Burger at St. Rene Parish. Jeffery was a U.S Army military veteran and Good Conduct medal recipient. Recipient of many awards throughout his life, he was named Veteran of the year in 2013 by the Lyons club of Bridgeview. Recipient of the Eagle Head Award for countless acts of patriotism, presented by the United States Congress. Throughout his life, he always wanted to help those in need. During his tenure as Production manager at Milton Bradley/Playskool Toy Company, he initiated and developed a program to donate toys with imperfections that were previously destroyed. The toys were donated to kids that were less fortunate. Jeffery would put on his Santa Clause suit and deliver toys to children’s hospitals. Seeing a smile on a less fortunate child was his greatest accomplishment in his eyes. He had a passion for volunteering and raising money for veterans. Jeffery also loved volunteering with his children, helping kids with special needs at Misericordia. After retiring, he was involved in the village of Justice and ran for office as a trustee, then served as village trustee and deputy mayor.

Robin was a loving, caring, and kind hearted mother; she was a beloved younger sister to Bobby; cherished niece to Carol, Jackie and Geri with many loved cousins. She was a dear friend to many. Robin loved her grandchildren dearly, and spent every opportunity she could with them and in spirit with angel granddaughter Eleanor, who was too beautiful for earth. Robin was always full of joy and laughter when spending time with her grandsons Greyson and Andrew. Robin enjoyed vacationing in Vegas with her daughters Kristy and Lauren and love to go shopping and take coffee trips. She will truly be missed. It is with profound sadness that we announce that on April 24, 10 days after her 68th birthday, Carol Sue Oles (nee MacNeice), beloved wife, loving mother, devoted grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, passed away.
Carol is survived by her husband, Richard J. Oles Sr.; sons Richard J. Oles Jr. and Vincent E. Oles, her daughter-in-law Mariastella Oles, her grandson Vincent (Vincenzo) E. Oles II, and her sister-in-law Caroline M. Kilmer (Oles); cherished daughter of the late Robert L. MacNeice and Audrey E. MacNeice (McCombs) and beloved sister of the late Donald L. MacNeice, Robert D. MacNeice, Richard (Big Mac) A. MacNeice, and Keith E. MacNeice. Carol also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and countless friends.
Carol was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and created a life for herself and raised her family in the Little Village Neighborhood of Chicago. She married her love, Richard J. Oles Sr, in May of 1973 and excitedly raised her two boys alongside him. Carol supported not only her family, but also her soul through the 22 years of service as a School Security Officer at Kennedy High School. Carol was blessed with one grandchild, “Vincenzo”, who was the absolute light of her life, and she beamed with pride when sharing stories, pictures, and videos of him with others. Vibrant, lively, welcoming, and kind, Carol brought people together and brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.
