Hodgkins Mayor Ernest Millsap and the Board of Trustees celebrated the village’s businesses at its annual Business Appreciation Breakfast on April 10.
Over 100 people gathered at the Hodgkins Administration Center for a hearty breakfast hosted by the village.
Representatives from many businesses that are located in or that work within the village, along with school and park district representatives, were on hand. Some took questions from the audience on a variety of topics.
A project manager from K-Five Construction spoke about the total closure of East Avenue between Joliet Road and 55th Street.
He said the full closure will likely last another three to four weeks but it was needed as the utility work that’s being done is part of the process.
Millsap had a microphone passed around to each table, so all that were there could introduce themselves.
“We enjoy and look forward to this every year,” he said. “It’s nice to have everyone come together for a couple of hours. Another great thing about it is that when people hear who is among them, many stick around and network with each other. It was another great turnout and we enjoy hosting this.”
