In an effort to inform the community of current crimes and seek the public’s assistance in pending investigations, the Crete Police Department attempts to post information related to crimes occurring within the village. This is only a partial list of calls for service, as officers respond to a wide variety of calls, which will not be posted. Remember: All subjects arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Crete Police Department responded to 10 traffic accidents during these dates.
February 2
A fraud was reported in the 3400 block of State Street.
February 3
A theft over $500 was reported in the 900 block of Patricia Lane.
A battery was reported at CMHS after a fight between three female juveniles. Charges are pending.
February 5
Joseph A. Robinson, 30, Crete, was arrested for expired registration, driving with suspended registration for noninsurance, and driving while license suspended. Robinson also had a nationwide warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm, attempted murder, wanton endangerment, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, from Paducah, Kentucky.
February 6
Telvia N. Suarez, 40, Park Forest, was arrested for illegal stopping, standing, or parking where prohibited, and DUI.
February 8
Eli Resendiz-Dominguez, 45, Chicago, was arrested for no valid driver’s license.
February 9
Alain Moreno, 33, Crete, was arrested for driving without registration light and no valid driver’s license.
February 11
A violation of order or protection was reported in the 1500 block of Faithorn Avenue.
February 13
Amire D. Brazelton, 20, Steger, was arrested for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.
A fraud was reported in the 500 block of Moray Terrace.
February 14
A burglary from motor vehicles was reported at CMHS. Two vehicles were broken into, and items were taken. Flock cameras were used to identify the suspected vehicle, which was reported stolen from Park Forest.
February 16
Shanta A. Butler, 25, Crete, was arrested for failure to yield turning left and driving while license suspended.
February 17
John C. Petreikis Jr. (aka Johnny G), 33, Sauk Village, was arrested for retail theft (felony – prior convictions) after taking a case of Red Bull from the BP Gas Station. He also was charged with obstructing identification after attempting to use a false name of Robbert Alen. He also had a warrant from Lake County, Indiana.
Tevonte Smith, 28, Crete, was arrested on a warrant for DUI.
February 18
Ramon R. Jones, 34, Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Kendis S. Craig, 50, Crete, was arrested for domestic battery.
Scott G. Herrera, 40, Sauk Village, was arrested for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating motor vehicle using electronic communication device, operating motor vehicle when registration suspended for noninsurance, driving while license revoked, DUI, operating while revoked involved in a personal injury accident (felony), aggravated DUI third offense while revoked (felony), criminal damage to property, and resisting a peace officer.
February 19
A fraud was reported in the 800 block of Rosedale Terrace.
February 20
Jordan D. Bernard, 25, Crete, was arrested for driving while license suspended and a warrant from Lake County, Indiana.
February 22
Jaimeson B. Sales, 31, Hammond, Indiana, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Mario A. Martinez, 20, Kankakee, was arrested for domestic battery.
Todd M. Lenoir, 48, Crete, was arrested for assault.
February 24
Clarence D. Collins, 54, Steger, was arrested for speeding in a school zone and driving while license suspended.
February 26
A burglary was reported when Officers on patrol observed Pizza Hut had been broken into. Multiple offenders entered the building, but nothing was taken.
February 27
Darion A. Buchanan, 25, Chicago, was arrested for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.
February 28
A fraud was reported in the 1300 block of Main Street.
A deceptive practice was reported in the 1300 block of Main Street.
Francisco Amezquita, 26, Hanover Park, was arrested for expired registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving while license suspended.
Emil A. Dicks, 83, Crete, was arrested for battery.
David A. Espinoza-Martinez, 23, Chicago, was arrested for expired registration and driving while license revoked.
