
Oak Lawn senior Donte Montgomery saved his best for last.
Montgomery hit eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 42 points as the Spartans pushed Chicago-area top-ranked Kenwood to the limit before falling 78-72 in the Class 4A Riverside-Brookfield Regional final on Feb. 28.
The Spartans finished 24-9.
Class 3A
De La Salle 52, St. Francis 34: The Meteors (16-17) won their own regional as Charles Barnes scored 15 points and Remi Edwards added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Mount Carmel 65, Glenbard South 26: Cameron Thomas scored a game-high 26 points as the Caravan (27-5) won their own regional.
St. Laurence 70, Nazareth 44: The Vikings (28-5) rolled to the Hinsdale South Regional title and gave coach Roshawn Russell his 100th career win. Jacob Rice led St. Laurence with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, Zerrick Johnson scored 14, Brad Stratton and Markese Peoples each had 12 points and EJ Mosley contributed nine points and 10 assists.
