Beecher graduate Abby Shepard has been a reliable bench player this season but she was absolutely on fire on Feb. 19.
The University of St. Francis junior guard hit a school-record 11 3-point baskets for 33 points and added eight rebounds and six assists to help the Saints to a mammoth 127-46 win over Calumet St.Joseph in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference battle at the Pat Sullivan Center in Joliet.
The Saints (21-6, 14-5 after the win) set the school record with 26 3-pointers but feel short of the program record for points in a game by one.
USF scored 48 second-quarter points as Shepard accounted for 12 points on four 3-point baskets.
After the record-breaking outburst, she was averaging 7.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists.

Crete-Monee senior Joshua Hill won the triple jump and finished second in the long jump and was a part of the second-place 800-meter relay team at the Greg Foster Invitational indoor meet at Proviso West High School in Hillside.

The Illinois Running News website said he was one of the strongest jumpers in the field and “definitely has the potential to joins Illinois’ potential all-staters this year.
Junior teammate Derrin Couch also picked up some notice from the website, saying he is “already accomplished more than the average runner” after last year’s two top-10 finishes in the state. He was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles and eighth in the 110 hurdles.
In girls track, Crete-Monee’s Tamryn Farmer took first in the 60 meter and second in the 200 meter at the Sharon Green Invitational at Rich Township High School.
